Special Parts for a Job in the Job Database


Creating Special Parts for a Job - These are job specific parts.

Creating Special Parts for a Job - While in a job click 'Settings' on the main menu, and then click 'Special Parts Job'. The 'Special' parts box appears on the screen. Either select an existing special part from the 'Existing' box or enter the 'Part Description' of a new part and click 'Update'.

In the Part Info box enter the 'Unit', 'Material Price' and 'Labor Units'.

When complete select a category to the left of the 'Update Box'. All special parts except those with a fixture category will be listed in the 'Special Parts' window in the category you selected. Special parts with a fixture category will be listed in the 'Fixture Schedule' special parts window.

When complete left click the 'Update' button. The box clears itself and it is ready for the next assembly.

Your new assemblies will be listed in the category that you selected in the 'Special' window, in 'Assemblies'.

Note: "Special" parts are given a part ID number preceded with dollar signs ($$). These dollar signs will show on the print out to let you know in the summary reports that this particular item has been revised.

A. Using Existing Parts - A quick method of creating a special part is starting with an existing part in the parts window. Highlight the part you want to use, and then right click. Select 'Create Special Part'. You can change the 'Cost Code', 'Part Description', 'Unit', 'Material Price' and 'Labor Units'. When complete select a
category to the left of the 'Update Box'. All special parts except those with a fixture category will be listed in the 'Special Parts' window in the category you selected. Special parts with a fixture category will be listed in the 'Fixture Schedule' special parts window. When you are complete, click 'Update'.



Special Parts for your Office in the Master Database

Creating Special Parts for Your Office -
These are office specific Parts and may be used in all jobs

Parts for your office may only be created by an administrator. Only Administrators will see this option under the menu item 'Settings'.

The Parts are created in the same manner as ones created for jobs. See above.
